The Choral Society currently has approximately 100 singing members, but new members are always extremely welcome!
If you are interested in joining, you are welcome to come to a rehearsal to meet us – details are on the Rehearsals page, just ask for the membership secretary when you arrive at St Mary’s church.
Once you have decided to join, you will be asked to have a brief voice test with the Musical Director. On satisfactory completion you will be given a membership card.
Singing members are expected to attend all rehearsals unless unavoidably detained, and must attend the final rehearsals in order to sing in the concerts, at the discretion of the Musical Director.

For a number of years the choir has had reason to be grateful to the Friends and Patrons who have supported the choir, not only with their donations but also by regularly attending our concerts. When it comes to arranging programmes (and budgeting for future programmes) it is of great assistance to be able to rely on this core of regular supporters.
For an annual donation, our Patrons receive a ticket for each of our three main concerts (excluding the Christmas Carol Concert). We endeavour to keep our Patrons up to date with coming events and with the affairs of the society. Patrons are also welcome at the Annual General Meeting.
